About Malta Residential Program ((MPRP))

The Malta Permanent Residence Program (MPRP) is a residency-by-investment program that allows individuals and their families to obtain permanent residence in Malta. This program is designed to attract foreign investment, supporting Malta’s economic growth and development. Through a combination of government contributions, property investment, and donations to Maltese NGOs, the MPRP enables applicants to secure residency in a stable and well-connected European nation. Who can apply Malta citizenship ?

Anyone over 18 years of age is eligible to apply if they can invest the minimum amount required by the MPRP Program.

To participate in the program, applicants must

Pay a non-refundable administration fee of €40,000.
Rent a property with a minimum annual lease of €10,000 in South Malta/Gozo or €12,000 in other parts of Malta or
purchase a property valued at least €300,000 in South Malta/Gozo or €350,000 elsewhere in Malta.
Make a government contribution of €28,000 if purchasing a property, or €58,000 if renting.
Pay €7,500 for each additional dependent parent or grandparent of the main applicant and/or spouse.
Hold the property for a minimum of 5 years, after which maintaining a residential address is required.
Donate €2,000 to a local NGO in charitable, cultural, scientific, artistic, sporting, or animal welfare fields registered with the Commissioner of Voluntary Organizations.

Eligibility and requirements

Be third-country nationals (non-EU, non-EEA, and non-Swiss)
Not be from countries sanctioned by the Agency, as periodically announced
Not benefit from other relevant regulations and schemes
Have stable and regular financial resources sufficient to support themselves and their dependents without relying on Malta’s social assistance system
Hold capital assets of at least €500,000, with a minimum of €150,000 in financial assets
Be fit-and-proper individuals with a clean criminal record
Not pose any threat to national security, public policy, public health, or public interest

Who can be included in the application ?

You can include dependents above 18 years (major) or below 18 years (minor), provided they are unmarried and financially dependent on the main applicant. Additionally, you can include parents or grandparents, as long as they are fully dependent on the main applicant, who is eligible to apply.
